Blefaritis, any next steps

Hi - this is along one, please be patient.
Going out of my mind. Wonder if anyone can help. 5 months ago noticed constant very irritable eyes. Went for routine eye test for glasses and failed the'puff' test. Referred to specialist at the hospital. It got so bad, pain like somone stretching my eye balls that i had two trips to casualty, they concluded it was bacterial and gave me drops which were useless. Specialist tested the heck out of my eyes and concluded that there was no cause for concern and discharged me. He suggested that I 'might' have Blefaritis. I dont have any discharge to speak of only the feeling that there is a bit of sand in the corner of my eye occasionally. I have bought the eye bag and sterile wipes and am using Celluvisc eye drops. I have tried hypromellose but this seems to make the irritation and blurriness worse. I have had no pain attacks for several weeks now but am left with constantly aching eyes 24/7. I am a photographer and teacher so use the computer a lot and this certainly seems to aggravate the irritation and causes a greasy substance to be smeared across my eyeball which i then have to blink a lot to get rid of.
Its getting really maddening, I visit GPs and they dont know anything, I see a specialist he says that all is OK but I am left with itchy, greasy eyes which is severely affecting the quality of my life. I know it sounds silly but are there 'eye irritation specialists' out there that will pay more than lip service to my condition. Confirmation that I have a condition would be good.
Any guidance on more avenues for exploration would be greatly appreciated.
