Anti-histamines stop gritty feeling

   I don't know if anyone else has tried this, but I wondered if my blepharitis / dry eyes / Meibomian Gland Dysfunction might be triggered by allergy, as the awful gritty / foreign body sensation often seems to start almost as soon as I get home in the evenings.  In desperation a few days ago I took an anti-histamine (just normal over-the-counter hayfever remedy) and the itchy / gritty feeling went away very soon after.  I've tried this a few times since and it gives relief every time.
